The story of Dr. J

 

In the early 80's an unsteady toaster fell into a woman's bath. Any normal
day, this sort of accident would kill a woman. Fortunately for a small town
family this was no normal day. In a miracle of modern science no woman was
killed. On this day, not even a scratch stumbled it's way onto the delicate
flesh of a bathing woman. This day, -this anomalous day, a child was
conceived.

Doctors toiled for what turned into months, as they searched for the source
of this immaculate conception. DNA tests proved nothing but a healthy child
was being created deep within the inner most workings of the woman's womb. Each day it seemed doctors could do nothing but dig farther and farther, hoping, begging for an answer. Then one day it came. -In the form of a dream.

Dr. James Hopfield MD, resident Obstetrician at Riverview Medical Center in
Red Bank NJ recalls, "Months into the pregnancy I had a dream. There was a
boy, -A man.  He, he talked to me. He was beautiful. His beauty was only
bested by his grace. And his grace, -his grave brought me to tears. I woke
up crying, moved. But, still without answers.

Dr Hopfield, visibly shaken went into work the next day with no answers. The
staff, excited by his news of a dream coerced him to try a self induced coma. Surely, they knew form of deeper sleep would hold the answers.

"And so it was," Dr. Hopfield solemnly declared, tears building up in his
eyes, "I went to sleep for a long, long time." In this lengthy sleep it is
reported that the sleeping body of Dr. Hopfield actually stood up and danced
break dancing moves, the likes of which never graced a human eye again.

Dr. Hopfield elaborated, "The man, he came to me again. He too was a doctor. Just like me. He, knew so much about how I felt, -about how we all felt. In this dream He looked at me, he held my hand and he said, "Sometimes there are no answers. Some things just are."

Twenty three years later, Dr. James Hopfield awoke to meet the man in his
dream, born and fully matured. His name: Dr. J!
